Anthony Washington is a seasoned fine art preparator who facilitates installations for viewing in the gallery. Born in Syracuse NY, Anthony has worked independently in local galleries as well as venues in the NYC and Tri-State area. Being a creative himself, he possesses hands-on experience with the process of creating the art all the way to its display to the public. Working directly with artists and curators to put their visions into action is Anthony’s continuing passion here at Community Folk Art Center. Link
Outside of the gallery, Anthony navigates the world through his creations as a painter, sculptor, and photographer. You can find his mural work on both the insides and outsides of small businesses throughout New York State. His goal as a creator is to promote progress, positivity, and self-acceptance in his community. Being one of only two black men in his high school graduating class, he believes it is imperative to the future that young children of color are given opportunities to see vibrant, dynamic, creative people who look like them in positions of leadership at an early age. Through his work as an after-school art program instructor, he drives the importance of celebrating uniqueness and self-expression for future generations. Link
