Adult Music & Movement Classes (September 14th -December 3rd 2026)
Unleash your creativity with a variety of accessible dance and music classes in Syracuse, NY! Community Folk Art Center offers piano, ballet, and African Drumming; all skill levels are welcome. To register for a class, students may purchase a monthly class pass for $75.00 and take an unlimited number of classes in a 30-day period or purchase an individual class for $10.00.
Piano: Mondays 6:30 – 7:30 PM. Instructed by Berny Williford. In this course you will learn music theory and discover how to play a variety of popular songs and music styles
Vibe & Flow – A Movement Experience: Tuesdays 6:30 – 7:30 PM Instructed by Jaquaia Reid, Step into a high-energy, welcoming space where movement meets freedom, culture, and self-expression. Led by Jaquaia Reid, this class blends Caribbean movement (Soca, Reggae, Kompa), Afrobeats, and R&B–influenced movement, with touches of hip-hop and freestyle, creating a dynamic, multicultural experience designed for all levels—especially beginners. No prior dance experience is needed.
Ballet: Mondays & Wednesdays 6:30 – 7:30 PM. Instructed by Charles Haislah. This course focuses on techniques and steps of classical ballet with an emphasis on terminology and correct body alignment. For attire please wear a leotard, tights, and ballet shoes with optional overgarments of your choice (leggings, shorts, or flexible leg wear).
West African Drum : Thursdays 6:30 – 7:30 PM. Instructed by David ‘Etse’ Nyadedzor. Step into the rhythmic world of drum with this exhilarating percussion course.

Registration & Attendance : All class participants must complete a mandatory digital sign-in upon arrival for a scheduled course
Payment Options : Participants can purchase a singular class or semester pass via PayPal or on site using cash, credit or debit card.
Holidays & Inclement Weather : In the event of federal holidays, building or university closures your selected class registration will be credited to the next available session. There will be no adult classes on the following dates : Thursday, November 26th, Monday, January 18th, Monday, May 31st.
