New Adult Class : Smart Tech

 

The Community Folk Art Center is excited to announce the launch of its new technology course for adults, Smart Tech: The Evolution of Technology How It Works starting May 22nd, 2024. This four-week accelerated program will offer hands-on workshops related to photography, production, and lifestyle applications that are accessible through a smartphone. This course is designed to equip students with the latest technological trends and digital programs of the 21st century. This course includes four 2.5 hr sessions for  $150.00. The meeting time will be  11:00 AM. – 1:30 PM

Subjects Include :

  • The Evolution of Smart Technology
  • Health and Wellness Applications
  • Business and Finance  Applications
  • Social Media, Video Production, and Photography

This program is developed in response to the growing demand for small business development, digital communications, online banking, virtual health management, and the advancement of cyber security.

Connect with your community through a hands-on writing workshop. Join Cedric T. Bolon and Kofi Antwi on Wednesday, May 29th at 6:30 PM for Poetic Black Fusion writer’s workshop! Poetic Black Fusion is a writers’ workshop that provides access and opportunities to poets of the African diaspora living in Central New York. This program is a social outlet for community members to develop as writers, and express themselves from the page to the stage. This event is free and open to the community.

Turning the Lens: Building Community through Family Photographs

Join the Turning the Lens Collective for an evening of community storytelling and photo sharing. This event will feature guest speakers from the Syracuse community and a presentation of recorded interviews from our collective’s “Family Pictures Syracuse” launch events in October 2023. We encourage attendees to bring along their own family photographs to share as a part of the event.
