In collaboration with the Syracuse chapter of The Links, Inc., Community Folk Art Center will present the “42nd Annual Teenage Competitive Art Exhibition.” The Annual Teen Competitive Art Exhibition is the longest running collaborative exhibition in the greater Syracuse area that features the work of underrepresented teen artists. Prizes are awarded to winners in two-dimensional and three-dimensional categories. A panel of local art professionals will serve as judges for the exhibition. Participating students attend Syracuse City high schools as well as suburban Onondaga County High Schools.  The opening reception will be on May 31st from 1-3 pm and will be on view from May 31st to June 14th, 2014.

Community Folk Art Center is a vibrant artistic and cultural hub committed to the promotion and development of artists from the African Diaspora. The mission of the center is to exalt cultural and artistic pluralism by collection, exhibiting, teaching, and interpreting the visual and performing arts. Public programming includes exhibitions, film screenings, gallery talks, workshops and courses in the studio, performing and expressive arts. A proud unit of the African American Studies Department at Syracuse University, CFAC is a beacon of artistry, creativity and cultural expression engaging the Syracuse community and the world.
